Recently on Tuesday Qualcomm made an important announcement by introducing its new Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem fully based on the new 4nm process and said to be a capable modem for up to 10Gbps which is insane. Qualcomm reported that its new X65 modem will be made only for high-end devices like premium smartphones, PCs, industrial Internet of Things, and 5G private networks.
The company reported that the new modem will feature a newly designed RF Front End (RFFE) solution and mmWave antenna module, which made it capable to provide a fast download speed of up to 10Gbps. Qualcomm also reported that the new antenna module will make the modem feature with both sub-6GHz and “extended-range 5G” mmWave connectivity, which will let users switch to sub-6Ghz when there is no 5G network available.
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem will also feature artificial intelligence which leads to more accuracy in detecting the hand’s positions by 30% as compared to the previous generation modems by the company. Moreover, the company also said that the new RFFE solution of the X65 modem will provide devices with “all-day battery life”.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G Modem & X62 Modem
Along with the high-end device modem X65, the company also announced a low-end device modem-RF system called X62 5G which is capable of providing speed up to 4.4Gbps. According to the report, both X65 and X62 modem have already been sent to equipment manufacturers and expected to be used in both high-end and low-end devices all set to launch later this year only.
last year in 2020 Qualcomm announced and launched its latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor for premium high-end range devices, which they said will feature on premium smartphones in the year 2021.
A statement had been made by Qualcomm vice president of product management Ziad Ashar in which he said that “the Snapdragon 888 is aimed at “always-on” use cases with shared memory to move data with better performance per watt.“
