Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Based on the Marvel Comics superhero Miles Morales, it is inspired by both the character’s almost decade-long comic book mythology, and the 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which helped to popularize him. The game is the second installment in Marvel’s Spider-Man series, following Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018), and depicts Miles’ struggle to balance the duties of his civilian persona and Spider-Man when his new home, Harlem, is threatened by a war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and the Tinkerer’s high-tech criminal army, the Underground.

    2. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is an action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment and the twenty-second release in the Assassin’s Creed series, and a successor to the 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Set in the years 872–878 AD, the game recounts a fictional story during the Viking invasion of Britain. The player controls Eivor, a Viking raider who becomes embroiled in the conflict between the Assasin Brotherhood and the Templar Order.

    3. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a 2020 first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. It was released worldwide on November 13, 2020, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. It serves as the sixth installment in the Black Ops series, and the seventeenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series. The game is the second Call of Duty title since 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 to be co-developed by two studios.

    4. Demon Souls

Demon’s Souls is an action role-playing game where players take on the role of an adventurer, whose gender and appearance are customized at the beginning of the game, exploring the cursed land of Boletaria. Aspects of the customization impact various statistics related to gameplay. The player character is granted a starting character class, which further influences their stats, though they can be altered later in the game and effectively change a player’s class combined with a different weapon choice.

    5. Astro’s Playroom

Astro’s Playroom is a 3D platformer in which the player controls Astro Bot using the DualSense controller. Like the previous game, he is able to jump, hover, punch enemies and objects as well as spin attack by charging his punch. The haptic feedback of the controller is used to provide realistic tactile vibrations from actions such as walking on different types of material, walking through rainfall, and into the wind. The game starts in a hub world called CPU Plaza which is modeled after the inside of the PlayStation 5 console and provides access to four worlds.

    6. Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Featuring an open world, the player controls Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The game was released on July 17, 2020, for PlayStation 4. It received praise for its visuals and combat but was criticized for its open-world activities. Ghost of Tsushima also earned several award nominations and wins and sold over 5 million copies as of November 2020.

    7. God of War

The untitled God of War sequel is an action-adventure game currently in development by Santa Monica Studio and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released in 2021 for the PlayStation 5. It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018’s God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Norway and feature series protagonists Kratos and his young son Atreus. The game is expected to initiate Ragnarök, a series of events that bring about the end of days and depict the deaths of the Norse gods, which was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.
